Star mare Copy Cat Queen warmed up in dashing style for her clash with the State’s best four-year-old geldings and entires in the $200,000 Retravision Golden Nugget next Friday night when she scored a decisive victory in the $27,000 Nugget preview over 2130m at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

“She needed that run and she will be better next Friday when we’re hoping to get a decent draw,” said De Campo. “It doesn’t bother me at all, with Copy Cat Queen racing against the boys next week. She beat them when she won the Four-Year-Old Championship three starts ago.

“Tonight, she was really good when she had to chase that speed going into the bell before she finished off very well.”

Copy Cat Queen rated 1.56, with the final three quarters of the race being run in 28.3sec., 28.5sec. and 28.8sec. This was her eighth win from twelve starts as a four-year-old, improving her record to 38 starts for 15 wins, seven placings and $250,453 in prizemoney.

De Campo did not rest on his laurels after his double at Gloucester Park. He travelled to Northam’s Burwood Park where he trained and drove another double, scoring with Miki Windermere and Bettor Arcade.

Dylan Egerton-Green, who was successful with Hale Saint Louie ($5.90) in the $23,000 Sky Racing Listen Live Pace over 2130m on Friday night, also landed a double at Northam with Boujee Boy and Curadh.

And 19-year-old Abbey Vidovich revealed great skill in the sulky at the Gloucester Park meeting when she notched her first metro-class double with Blazing Reactor ($5) in the $27,000 Nadia Boath Pace and Jolted Charm ($6.50) in the $21,000 Sky Racing Watch Live Pace over 2130m.

Vidovich kept up the good work, winning with Straunys Sister ($19.60) at Northam and Gota Good Warhol ($4.10) and Del Bocavista Bay ($4.30) at Collie on Sunday.
