Eagle Royalty has inherited much of the wonderful ability of her dam Sheer Royalty and she looks set to complete a winning hat-trick by proving too smart for her four rivals in the 1730m TABtouch.com.au Pace for two-year-old fillies at Gloucester Park on Saturday night.

Eagle Royalty is trained by Peter Anderson and will be driven by Chris Lewis, who enjoyed a great association with the Mike Reed-trained Sheer Royalty, who was retired after nine wins, seven placings and $248,904 in stakes.

Lewis drove Sheer Royalty six times and was successful at the first five of those drives early in 2009 when the filly won the Daintys Daughter Classic, the WA Oaks and the $100,000 State Sires Series for three-year-old fillies.

Sheer Royalty is the first foal out of Orange Pip, who also produced Sheer Rocknroll (74 starts for 22 wins, 14 placings and $303,715) and Veiled Secret (49 starts for eight wins, 15 placings and $103,416). Lewis won eight races behind Sheer Rocknroll.

Eagle Royalty started her career with two seconds at Pinjarra in January and she has impressed with convincing wins at each of her past two starts, at Gloucester Park and Albany. She has the ability to overcome the disadvantage of starting from the outside barrier in the field of five on Saturday night when the chief rival looms as the Ross Olivieri-trained Taking The Miki.

Chris Voak will drive Taking The Miki from barrier four. Taking The Miki set the pace from the No. 1 barrier when an easy winner over 1780m at Northam last Saturday night.

Anderson will also be represented by Shes An Angel, who will be handled by Aiden de Campo from barrier two. Shes An Angel’s only placing from three starts was two starts ago when she began from the inside barrier and trailed the pacemaker Extraordinary Mary before finishing a well-beaten second to that filly over 1730m at Gloucester Park.
