Bettor’s Delight, the dominant sire in Australia and New Zealand of the 21st Century, has established a legacy that will last for generations.

The Woodlands Stud flagship has topped the Australian sires’ list on a record 13 occasions and the NZ premiership for 14 consecutive seasons. He has also headed the broodmare sires’ list in Australia for the last four seasons and in NZ for the past three.

Interestingly, Bettor’s Delight features in the pedigrees of no less than 13 of the 54 lots nominated for the Australian Pacing Gold autumn mixed sale on May 24 and 25.

Seven were sired by the Cam’s Card Shark colossus – three weanlings and four broodmares –  while he also appears on the distaff side of two broodmares, a weanling colt and a yearling gelding.

Bettor’s Delight figures as the sire of weanling fillies out of Punch Line and Jet’s Girl, Lot 6 and Lot 7 respectively, the weanling colt from Gettn Gospel (Lot 12) and the broodmares Follow Your Mother (Lot 28), Monsoon Matilda (Lot 33), Classical Music (Lot 40) and Soho Madeleine (Lot 50).

He is the damsire of the weanling colt from Our Sleeping Beauty NZ (Lot 2), the yearling gelding out of That’s Bettor (Lot 14) and the broodmares Vegas Diamond (Lot 43) and Soho Amazing Grace (Lot 46).

Meanwhile, All Bets Off, the sire of the yearling filly out of Feelinkindasporty (Lot 16), and Betting Line, the sire of the broodmare Wings On The Line (Lot 34), are both sons of Bettor’s Delight.

Art Major features as the sire of four lots namely, the weanling filly out of Smyrna Duruisseau USA (Lot 4) and the broodmares Reesy (Lot 37), Salacious Gossip (Lot 48) and Soho New York (Lot 54).

The young Somebeachsomewhere horse Goodtime Sammy has five yearling fillies in the auction in Lots 18, 19, 20, 23 and 24.

Captaintreacherous, Confederate, E L Titan, Mach Three, Renaissance Man and Vincent are all dually represented.

Captaintreacherous has the stallion Captain Ahab (Lot 32) and the broodmare Vegas Diamond (Lot 43), Confederate has a pair of weanling colts (Lot 1 and Lot 2), the trotter E L Titan has two weanling colts (Lot 9 and Lot 11), Mach Three has two broodmares in Masey Mach (Lot 45) and Soho Amazing Grace (Lot 46), Renaissance Man has a pair of yearling fillies (Lot 21 and Lot 22) and Vincent is represented by a yearling colt (Lot 14) and the broodmare Xcite Me NZ (Lot 35).
