REIGNING champion No Notthebuttons is back in town to defend his title.

Successful in last season's Southern Cross Final, No Notthebuttons will make the trip from Victoria to contest Saturday night's heats at Globe Derby.

In strong form, No Notthebuttons won the Vicbred Silver Series three starts ago, before finishing third in a Victoria Derby heat only to have no luck in the Final.

Prepared by record-breaking horsewoman Emma Stewart, the son of Art Major is a short-priced favourite from barrier four.

A regular raider during the past decade, Stewart is no stranger to glory in South Australia's majors, particularly the Southern Cross.

Along with Cups, Derbys and Oaks, Stewart has captured eight Southern Cross Finals for two-year-olds and five three-year-old Finals since 2015!

"We enjoy racing in Adelaide whenever possible," Stewart said. "The racing over there is competitive and it's always a good time.

"Buttons is only up against a small field and appears to be the one to beat, but he still has to get out there and get the job done."

Stewart will also be represented by Brighton in a two-year-old fillies' qualifier, with the daughter of Downbytheseaside drawn gate five.

Runner-up upon debut, Brighton has finished midfield during her four subsequent starts against high class opponents.

"She's yet to get a win on the board, but we believe she can do that on the weekend," Stewart said.
