Cranbourne stakes boost to deliver a double Group 1 cups night

Cranbourne Harness Racing Club will host a Group 1 double header on Saturday December 17 after both its pacing and trotting cups received a significant prizemoney increase.

The Decron Pacing Cup was last run at Group 1 level in 2016 and returns to the sport’s top tier after its prize money was increased from $75,000 to $100,000, while the trotters cup will be run at Group 1 level for the first time after its prize money was doubled from $25,000 to $50,000.
