Trainer Kevin Pizzuto heads to Penrith tonight one happy man.

With two starters engaged at the meeting, the mentor is still elated after winning the Group 2 Treuer Memorial last Monday for the second year in-a-row with his pacer Loorrim Lake.

Pizzuto was equally impressed with his other starter in the $50,000 feature Arden Messi who faced the breeze and finished fifth.

“We thought we could find the lead with him and if he did, he probably wins the race,” said Pizzuto.

“He went massive, he did a power of work and was entitled to get tired and in the end wasn’t beaten that far.

“Loorrim Lake went well . . . it’s not easy to win that race two years in-a-row.

“It was a good race and I’m happy for his connections.”
