HRV Track Seminar - 15 June 2022

27 April 2022

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has programmed a track maintenance seminar to be held in the Legends Room at Tabcorp Park, Melton on Wednesday 15 June 2022.

The seminar is planned to run from 10.30am to 4.30pm which will include the provision of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and attendees are then invited to stay on for that night’s race meeting at Tabcorp Park.

The format of the day will include presentations on the maintenance and preparation of tracks with a particular focus on the use of track machinery, particularly the grader, along with segments from other keynote speakers including leading drivers and a veterinarian.

Following the seminar, attendees are invited to dinner at the evening race meeting and are given the chance to mix with other curators. This social aspect has led to many curators making long term contacts with fellow curators which has proven most beneficial for seeking advice and exchanging ideas.

Any attendees wishing to stay overnight can do so at the special price of $150 a room, by booking directly with Tabcorp Park on (03) 8746 0600.

Furthermore, curators can witness a practical demonstration of the Tabcorp Park racetrack being graded the following morning after the races.

Whilst all Victorian registered harness racing clubs are urged to participate, as has been the case with past seminars HRV welcomes any curators or representatives from New Zealand or interstate harness racing clubs to attend.

There is no cost for attending the seminar although any flights, accommodation and expenses outside the food/drink provided on the day are the responsibility of each representative or their associated club or body.

Please advise Rachel Boxshall with the names of confirmed attendees for the seminars by Tuesday 1 June by emailing rboxshall@hrv.og.au

If you require any further information on the seminar content, please call Rob Pongho on (03) 83780218.
