Thanks to some outstanding decisions made by Queensland breeders back in the season of 19/20, the team at Neds-APG have been able to assemble 88 distinguished Lots for the Neds -APG Gold Coast Sale happening at 28 Ascot Ct, Bundall QLD, this Sunday the 23rd of January 2022.

This acclaimed race series not only has $400,000 of local prize money ($3.25m in total) on offer, but in addition, thanks to the Racing Qld incentive scheme delivers over $3.5 million in extra returns for breeders and owners of harness horses bred and raced in Queensland.

For horses this sees a first-win bonus set at $14,000 at any age, regardless of how many interstate wins they may have had.

A further $7,500 cash bonus is also on offer for their first Queensland win in a subsequent season, meaning the opportunities for investors in harness racing right now have never been better than in QLD.

The next stallions we would like to highlight are Badlands Hanover, Bettors Delight and Captaintreacherous

.

Badlands Hanover was a World Champion standout Grand Circuit performer, setting a world record at two of 1:50 winning the 1998 Breeders Crown Final.

With multiple $1,000,000 winners in both the northern and southern hemispheres, this puts him amongst some of the most successful stallions in the sport.

Badlands Hanover is Australasia’s Leading Living Sire for 2021 (2021 Average Earnings Per Starter) season.

  • Lot 12 - Badlands Hanover - Bute Sister - Artiscape -  Ms Mac N Cheese $815,427: This specular looking colt is out of the NZ sister to Badlands Bute, and a winner of $338,365 he carries the blood that could get the new owner extremely excited by its prospects.
  • Lot 20 - Badlands Hanover – Clearwater Blue - Artiscape - This striking filly is a full sister to the extremely exciting Hayley Blue.

As Shawn Grimsey (G1 trainer)  puts it  “Blue has a very serious motor and we are expecting big things from her in 2022”.

Bettor’s Delight is being promoted as harness racing’s relentless juggernaut in the breeding shed, with no stallion having cast a bigger shadow over the breeding scene.  Age has not diminished his influence on the racetrack and in the breeding barn as his progeny continue to break records and he is now impacting as a broodmare sire.

  • Lot 8 – Bettors Delight – Breeze On Bronski – McArdle. With an incredible 11 offspring bred on this cross so far with earnings of more than $100,000, from just 33 progeny of racing age - this cross has ticked so many boxes. This QBRED Filly should have lots of interest come this Sunday on the Gold Coast.
  • Lot 30 – Bettors Delight – Get In The Groove – Mach Three. Just the 2nd foal of this Group 1 winning mare that finished her career with 67-16-9-10 for $242,536 in earnings. This is the same outstanding cross that the $587,157 winning Classie Brigade is bred on. Astute Filly buyers should have this filly on the inspection list.
  • Lot 66 - Bettors Delight – Sweet Misty – Mystical Prince. Here is a colt being prepared by the team at Monarch Farm (Margaret Donohoe 0428 627 432) that is a full brother to the $96,244 (so far) winning gelding. I’m expecting Margaret and the team will be busy over the weekend parading this colt for prospective buyers.
  • Lot 76 – Bettors Delight – Versace Woman – Christian Cullen. Here is a colt bred on what many believe to the greatest cross ever to come out of NZ. A small sample of this cross are listed below.

  •  Lot 40 – Captaintreacherous  – Laceys Legacy – Mister Big . Clearly Volomite sires have done an amazing job in this family. The dams half- brother Majestic Mach won $796,96 and this is the same N31 family as Colt Thirty One winner of $1,031,121 to date. Peter Bell has made it abundantly clear, that all of the Solid Earth draft in 2022 are up for a genuine sale. Treacherous has proven to do a job over adios line broodmares and a good example of this is Captain Crunch winner of $1,725,495
