Shepparton, Tuesday 12 August

Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: SOAP AND BUBBLES (8) is a classy 3yo filly, which won four races in succession prior to a brave second behind Ideal Moth last week, where she raced very fiercely in the leading role. She is very fast and won easily from off the speed at Shepparton two starts ago so she should prove hard to beat. CENTOFELLIE (9) is resuming since May but she was very impressive when she sprinted quickly to win a Bendigo trial last week. She was competing at Metropolitan level at the end of her last campaign so she must be respected. SOHO DARKNSTORMY (10) returned to winning form with a strong victory over Celestial Zodiac last week. He is a quality 3yo and appears to be hard to beat again. SPIRIT OF SAHARA (6) missed out narrowly at Shepparton two starts ago and is backing up quickly from his effort at Wagga on Friday. He is a versatile pacer and is worth a ticket each way.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible leader), 2,6

SELECTIONS: SOAP AND BUBBLES (8), CENTOFELLIE (9), SOHO DARKNSTORMY (10), SPIRIT OF SAHARA (6)

RATINGS: 8,9/ 10/ 6/ 1/ 7

SUGGESTED BET: SOAP AND BUBBLES (8) to win

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: WHERESWALLY (7) is a first starter for Goulburn trainer Sam Hewitt, which won a trial at Goulburn in reasonable time on July 24 and is likely to be strongly supported. GEMMY LOU (5) is another first starter, which was impressive in winning a trial at Bendigo last week and must be considered as a winning chance. GINGER ELLA (1) was slow to begin and settled three back on the markers when third at her debut. She performed nicely at the trials prior and has the ability to show up prominently. OZZIE PEARL (3) gained a nice trail and worked home okay for second behind Postit Lafite at Shepparton. She has been placed in three of her past four starts and should run her usual honest race.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 6,7

SELECTIONS: WHERESWALLY (7), GEMMY LOU (5), GINGER ELLA (1), OZZIE PEARL (3)

RATINGS: 7/ 1,5/ 3,6/ 9

SUGGESTED BET: WHERESWALLY (7) to win

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: OLLIES THE BOSS (10) was resuming since December when he was aggressively driven and dashed well clear in the run to the finish to record a big first up win last week. He should be even better from that performance and will prove hard to beat again. IDEAL BANDIT (9) led throughout and scored comfortably at Cranbourne two starts ago. He is backing up quickly from his effort at Wagga on Friday and should be competitive again. TIVOLI (8) finished off best to score in a mile rate of 1.56.3 at Shepparton last outing. She is a classy filly and should be hitting the line strongly. OWEN THE SAINTS (2), WAZOWSKI (4) and KING SAINT (6) are all capable of showing up without surprising.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 7

SELECTIONS: OLLIES THE BOSS (10), IDEAL BANDIT (9), TIVOLI (8), WAZOWSKI (4)

RATINGS: 9,10/ 8/ 4/ 2,6

SUGGESTED BET: OLLIES THE BOSS (10) to win

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: BET SHEZA LADY (11) finished off fast to win at Shepparton two starts ago then followed with a third at Wagga, where she led out then took cover. She is racing in peak form and is capable of overcoming the poor alley. ROLLWITHARTY (9) settled three back on the markers and held his own over the concluding stages when sixth behind The Wise Guy last outing. He won from behind the leader at Kilmore four starts ago and strikes a suitable assignment now. FOREGONE CONCLUSION (10) was a winner at Kilmore three starts ago and is usually competitive against this class. He is poorly drawn but cannot be discarded. CLIVES GIRL (5) worked hard early before finding the lead then eventually took cover when fifth at Shepparton last outing. She is a speedy mare and is not without a chance.

EARLY SPEED: 7 (likely early leader), 3

SELECTIONS: BET SHEZA LADY (11), ROLLWITHARTY (9), FOREGONE CONCLUSION (10), CLIVES GIRL (5)

RATINGS: 11/ 9,10/ 5/ 3,4,8

SUGGESTED BET: BET SHEZA LADY (11) to win

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: KARBINE (6) finished quickly and produced an eye-catching performance when second at a Bendigo trial performance last week. He has been placed in four of his past five starts and will take beating if he delivers a fool proof display. STARLIGHT RED (5) is a fast beginner from the mobile and has been racing in peak form having been placed in six of her past seven starts. She finished off well from midfield when third behind Lizzies Son at her latest Shepparton performance. LOVE WHO (4) is also a fast beginner and should be prominent throughout. He began quickly to lead and was run down over the latter stages when third behind Sky Flair at Melton last outing. FAITH FULL (7) is racing well and gave a great sight when second behind Rakero Warrior two starts ago so she is not without a chance.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 5

SELECTIONS: KARBINE (6), STARLIGHT RED (5), LOVE WHO (4), FAITH FULL (7)

RATINGS: 6/ 4,5/ 7/ 2/ 8,9,10

SUGGESTED BET: KARBINE (6) each way

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: EVILEYE (4) finished solidly to get up and win over Foresight at Melton two starts ago then endured a tough run at her latest fifth. She is better drawn for this assignment and should make her presence felt. CITY ROCKSTAR (3) has been racing below her peak form recently but she is a fast beginner and will appreciate a big drop back in class for this assignment so an improved showing would not surprise. INTO THE HARKNESS (6) is searching for a winning hat trick and is a good chance of completing the task. She worked to the front and won comfortably in fast time at her latest success at Stawell. CEE CEE LOU (10) is poorly drawn but he is nearing a win against this class. He has been placed in three of his past four starts and ran a great race for second behind The Wise Guy at his latest attempt. OUR ROKU (1) and SIR SONNY MAGUIRE (8) are both capable of showing up without surprising.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 1,4,6

SELECTIONS: EVILEYE (4), CITY ROCKSTAR (3), INTO THE HARKNESS (6), CEE CEE LOU (10)

RATINGS: 4/ 3,6/ 10/ 1,8/ 7

SUGGESTED BET: EVILEYE (4) each way

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: ALTA BAYAMO (10) raced without cover throughout and went down narrowly when a brave second at Albury last outing. He was a recent winner at Wagga and has been placed at his past three attempts so he warrants respect. ROLLING REMONA (4) is a fast beginner and performs best when she is able to lead out then take cover. She was heavily supported when she came from midfield and loomed to win before peaking late when third last week. She has been placed at her past three starts against similar grade so she must be considered amongst the leading chance. SHEZABLUECHIP (2) attempted to lead throughout when second at Bendigo two starts ago. She is perfectly drawn to suit her racing pattern and is worth an investment. OUR MYSTERY BET (5) is worth thought along with NEVS DREAM (8) and TEX GOES BANG (9).

EARLY SPEED: 4 (likely early leader), 2,7

SELECTIONS: ALTA BAYAMO (10), ROLLING REMONA (4), SHEZABLUECHIP (2), OUR MYSTERY BET (5)

RATINGS: 10/ 2,4/ 5/ 8,9/ FIELD

SUGGESTED BET: ALTA BAYAMO (10) each way
