Form Analysis by Craig Rail
Race 1:
OVERVIEW: KYVALLEY JETSTREAM (11) worked to the front and won convincingly at Bendigo on May 28. He is backing up quickly from his game second at Kilmore on Thursday but he continues to perform well against this class. MYHEARTBEATSTRUE (12) pushed forward to find the front from a wide draw and was run down late when fourth behind Amour Maternal in a strong race last outing. She was a winner at Bendigo three starts ago so she should go very well against this class. STARLIGHT RED (8) settled three back on the markers and came to the outside at the 300m mark when a close second behind Alfie Always at Shepparton last outing. She is racing in great form having been placed in 9 of her 12 starts for the season so she must be respected. ABBIE (9) is a tough mare, which battled on well for third behind Rakero Warrior last outing and is not without a chance.
EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 1,4,7
SELECTIONS: KYVALLEY JETSTREAM (11), MYHEARTBEATSTRUE (12), STARLIGHT RED (8), ABBIE (9)
RATINGS: 11,12/ 8,9/ 10/ 1,3,4
SUGGESTED BET: KYVALLEY JETSTREAM (11) each way
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: TREACHEROUSTIMES (2) led throughout to win a race of similar standard last week and he is perfectly drawn so he should prove hard to beat again. SELF EXCLUSION (1) is not a brilliant beginner but he has been able to find the front and win several times recently. He might be headed off by TREACHEROUSTIMES (2) at the start but whether he is in front or behind the leader, he appears to be a winning chance. ALTA BAYAMO (11) was aggressively driven from a similar draw on the second line when a handy third behind King Saint last outing. This race is slightly easier so he is worth an investment. RONZEL SONNY (6) was doing his best work over the final stages at his latest fourth and has claims. If the emergency OUR MYSTERY BET (10) gains a start then he will be hard to beat.
EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 1,3,4,7
SELECTIONS: TREACHEROUSTIMES (2), SELF EXCLUSION (1), ALTA BAYAMO (11), RONZEL SONNY (6)
RATINGS: 2,10/ 1,11/ 6/ 4,7,13/ 12
SUGGESTED BET: TREACHEROUSTIMES (2) to win
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: VOLDAGHA (1) hasn’t been at his best form in two starts since resuming but his second up run last week was a bit sharper and he should keep getting better for the experience. He settled midfield and worked into a distant second behind Waikare Adrienna last week and beat home a lot of tonight’s rivals in the process. HURRICANE KATIE (8) produced a powerful finishing burst when she won a trial at Bendigo and was heavily supported when resuming last week but she unfortunately broke stride during the middle stages after she moved up without cover. She is better than her form reads and is a possible improver. TAKEN BY WINE (5) is a very fast beginner and finished third in the same race last week after she led out then took cover. She has been placed at her past five starts and should be competitive again. LITTLE MISS VALLEY (2) should gain a trail just behind the speed and has performed nicely at her two attempts to date. She is worth thought along with JILLIBY TOPGUN (4), which broke stride when in a reasonable position at Shepparton last week.
EARLY SPEED: 5 (likely leader), 1
SELECTIONS: VOLDAGHA (1), HURRICANE KATIE (8), TAKEN BY WINE (5), LITTLE MSS VALLEY (2)
RATINGS: 1/ 5,8/ 2/ 4,7
SUGGESTED BET: VOLDAGHA (1) to win
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: GINGER ELLA (1) powered home from last in a final half of 57.6 seconds to win over Island Yankee at a recent Shepparton trial performance. She remains undefeated in two trials to date and should go well on debut. SHEZ CHANEL (5) is a Lisa Pitt trained debutante that finished a close second behind GINGER ELLA (1) at her only trial performance and is sure to attract plenty of support. FLOPPA (4) was runner up in a trial at Shepparton in April and must be kept safe. CATIES SON (2) worked hard in the run and tired late when sixth at Echuca last week. He finished nicely from off the speed at his first three race track appearances so he is worth another chance.
EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 1,2
SELECTIONS: GINGER ELLA (1), SHEZ CHANEL (5), FLOPPA (4), CATIES SON (2)
RATINGS: 1,5/ 4/ 2/ 8,9
SUGGESTED BET: GINGER ELLA (1) to win
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: ZENARIO (8) was performing extremely well at the trials prior to a first up fourth behind I’m Wesley at Kilmore. He is awkwardly drawn on the second line but he is the class runner of the field and he won the Southern Cross Final last season so he must be respected. MIKI LOCH (4) has been racing well in New South Wales and worked home nicely from midfield when he finished second at Wagga last week. He is a maiden taking on proven race winners but he is not without a chance. ATOMIC BLACK (6) followed a good trial effort at Cobram with a debut victory at Kilmore, where he was aggressively driven in the middle stages. He endured another tough run when fifth at Wagga last outing and has shown enough ability in his two starts to warrant consideration. UNCLE TREV (5) was resuming since a brilliant debut victory back in February 2024 when eighth in May. He lacks solid racing but he has ability and is worth thought.
EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 6
SELECTIONS: ZENARIO (8), MIKI LOCH (4), ATOMIC BLACK (6), UNCLE TREV (5)
RATINGS: 8/ 4,6/ 5/ 7/ 9
SUGGESTED BET: ZENARIO (8) to win
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: SEA HAWKE (6) was able to complete a winning hat trick at Kilmore on Thursday night. He possesses early speed and is meeting a field of similar standard so there is no reason why he can’t win again. BET SHEZA LADY (5) trailed the leader and used the sprint lane when second behind Evileye in a mile rate of 1.58.2 two starts ago. She drew poorly and did well for fourth at Wagga last week so she must be respected against this grade. DANCINGONSTARLIGHT (1) may be headed off at the start but she is a tough mare and has been racing well throughout the season so she is worth an investment. ALL ITTOOK (4) is starting to work into some form having been placed at her past two starts and is worth thought along with LOYOLA SPIAGGIA (9).
EARLY SPEED: 6 (likely leader), 1,2,4,5
SELECTIONS: SEA HAWKE (6), BET SHEZA LADY (5), DANCINGONSTARLIGHT (1), ALL ITTOOK (4)
RATINGS: 5,6/ 1/ 4,9
SUGGESTED BET: BET SHEZA LADY (5) each way
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: LILLY LOTUS (7) is a very talented filly, which has won four of her past five starts. She hasn’t started since May but she finished second behind Ragazzo Major at a recent Shepparton trial performance and she should make her presence felt. IM WESLEY (2) is a fast beginner and should give a forward showing from his good draw. He led out then took cover when he scored at Kilmore two starts ago then followed with a close up third in a slick mile rate of 1.54.2. DUN ME UP FRANCY (5) worked home well for third when resuming at Melton last week. She performed nicely at the trials prior and she should be getting fitter so she not without a chance. THEROCKGOD (6) is resuming since November and hasn’t been to the trials but he possesses a powerful finishing burst so he is not to be underestimated.
EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely early leader), 1,4,7
SELECTIONS: LILLY LOTUS (7), IM WESLEY (2), DUN ME UP FRANCY (5), THEROCKGOD (6)
RATINGS: 7/ 2/ 5,6/ 1,4
SUGGESTED BET: LILLY LOTUS (7) to win
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: KARUMA KEV (7) began quickly to lead, was overtaken and trailed the leader at the bell then battled on okay in the straight when second behind Torque Power at Echuca. He led throughout in a slick mile rate of 1.55.2 three starts ago so he must be considered as a winning chance. BETTORSWEETVICTORY (6) produced a strong finish when she scored at Bendigo then made up a lot of ground when third last outing. She has struck peak form and looms as one of the leading chances again. CLIVES GIRL (4) gained a nice trail and finished a distant third at Kilmore two starts ago then finished fifth behind Isolation at Melton. She is usually competitive against this class and is worth a ticket each way. ROAM (1) will be getting fitter after two starts since a break and ALTATUDE (8) is not without a chance.
EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible early leader), 5,7
SELECTIONS: KARUMA KEV (7), BETTORSWEETVICTORY (6), CLIVES GIRL (4), ROAM (1)
RATINGS:
SUGGESTED BET:
Race 9:
OVERVIEW: SOAP AND BUBBLES (8) is a classy 3yo filly, which hasn’t started since completing three straight victories in May. She won a trial at Shepparton in preparation for her return and she should prove hard to beat against this line up. SKYFALL BENCHMARK (6) was resuming since April when he pushed forward to find the lead and was narrowly beaten at Kilmore. He should strip fitter from that run and is worth an investment. OUTMAZING (2) is resuming since December 2023 but he has been performing well at the Maryborough trials and should give a forward showing. MICHEN ROY (7) did a big job to overcome the extreme draw when he won convincingly at Melton last week. This is a field of more depth but he is worth thought again.
EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 6
SELECTIONS: SOAP AND BUBBLES (8), SKYFALL BENCHMARK (6), OUTMAZING (2), MICHEN ROY (7)
RATINGS: 8/ 2,6/ 7/ 1/ 3
SUGGESTED BET: SOAP AND BUBBLES (8) to win
