Form Analysis by Darren Clayton

RACE ONE

Showing early hustle two starts back, BEACHRIDE (3) settled in the 1x1 trail and then had the closing speed to descend on them for a 2m margin at the mile. Just a half-neck away last start at this trip when closing hard, he can press forward and from a prominent position can capitalise.

BEV THE GOAT (1) was able to overcome a wide gate at Redcliffe last start and power home int eh closing stages for victory over the 2040m.  This is a tougher assignment but with the mapping favours and options afforded, she has the chance to issue the challenge.

WITHOUTTHETUH (6) has faced the starter just once since crossing the Nullarbor with the Brennan barn. Beaten a half-head on that occasion in a Trot Rods heat, his trials suggest he can feature.

ELEGANT GROOVES (5) was forced to park in a slick mile last start behind ROCKET CITY. Beaten by gate 12 the start prior, she can press forward to feature.

SELECTIONS: BEACHRIDE (3), BEV THE GOAT (1), WITHOUTTHETUH (6), ELEGANT GROOVES (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

Making his first appearance on this deck last start, MIKIS JOE (6) looked snookered on the fence from the inside gate but had the closing speed to charge through for victory. Despite the wide gate, he can press forward and make his claim for victory.

TUAPEKA LOU (9) ships in for Jason Grimson and brings a last start victory at Penrith where he was sent forward from the outside front line to take control and pull clear to a 6m margin. Only beaten a neck the start prior, he can look to throw it down despite the second line.

A PERFECT DANCE (1) is an effective speed stalker and from this gate maps for that. Placed behind CAPTAINS MISTRESS three back, she can be to be probing the gaps in the stretch.

DARIN (2) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when only a head away from THETORQUE MAJORITY. With a tidy trial effort to sharpen, he has the gate to feature.

SELECTIONS: MIKIS JOE (6), TUAPEKA LOU (9), A PERFECT DANCE (1), DARIN (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

Slowly away when the gate pulled clear in the Rising Sun last week, HESITATE (5) was soon a long way off the leader and in a race dictated on pace, never really got a shot at them. A winner at both prior starts including a slick close out over this trip, he can prevail to claim the Queensland Derby golden ticket.

SWEET ON LEXY (1) is a three-time winner on this deck from six attempts and lines up after setting the speed in the South East Derby here last week. Leading until deep stretch when collared up the passing lane, he secures all the options from this gate to issue the challenge.

HEZATREACHEROUS (8) started from this same gate last week and was soon shuffled back in the pack and out of contention. Closer to the action this time, he can be chiming in.

THETORQUE MAJORITY (2) ran FATE AWAITS to a 2m margin at the mile two starts back and then last start could not get into it form the second line. The improved gate is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: HESITATE (5), SWEET ON LEXY (1), HEZATREACHEROUS (8), THETORQUE MAJORITY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: HESITATE (5) to win

RACE FOUR

SOHO AMERICANO (7) tackle the older mares fresh up from a break and was far too classy from a wide gate. Second up into the Redcliffe Oaks, she started a red figure favourite when getting too keen in front. The gate does her no favours, but she may just have enough class edge to overcome the impediment.

RUBY RULES (8) the line strongly wide off the track when runner-up to CAPTAINS MISTRESS in the Redcliffe Oaks. Snagged back off a wide gate and unable to get into the battle last week, despite the awkward gate, she can force into open space to issue the challenge.

OUR SPECIAL MEMORY (11) from a similar gate last time could not work into the contest, as MANHATTEN CHICK swept to victory. With successive victories prior, she has podium claims.

NAMAKA (2) tackled the Southeast Oaks last start where she found leaders back from gate three. Looming up and under 2m from the winner when 3rd, she has the gate to be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SOHO AMERICANO (7), RUBY RULES (8), OUR SPECIAL MEMORY (11), NAMAKA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SOHO AMERICANO (7) to win

RACE FIVE

MAC BON (7) skips the Derby qualifier to tackle this race from a tough gate. Game in defeat in the Southeast Derby he was asked to sit parked and was still grinding it out at the finish to be 2m from the passing lane winner SEASTHESTARS. Despite the gate he should have the class.

NOVANTA RISING (9) is chasing a hat-trick after successive wins in Tuesday company. Dictating over 2138, he then was able to grind it out over the mile with a starchy victory. Despite the second line making this a tougher assignment, he can throw down a challenge.

IRON CLAD (3) chased home behind COASTAL BABE last start which followed the outside front line gate in the Queensland Sun where the run had merit behind PATH TO GREATNESS. He can feature.

FACT FINDER (5) has tackled the middle trip at his past two in strong company when down the line. A winner at his previous five in succession, back to the mile is in his favour.

SELECTIONS: MAC BON (7), NOVANTA RISING (9), IRON CLAD (3), FACT FINDER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MAC BON (7) to win

RACE SIX

First up in Qld last start after arriving from the deep South of NZ, FERNCO NEL (7) was sent out in red figures from outside the second line. Settled rearward he attacked the line strongly to grab the silver when under 2m from the winner PREMIER PAUL. He can defy the gate to capitalise.

MISS BAY KING COLE (10) was a tidy first up winner after a long break when dictating in front. Getting it all wrong at Marburg at her next start and facing the ODM embargo she then produced a strong second from gate 7 behind POST PAINTER. With the right trip, she can challenge.

KASH TIN (11) was the best of the chasing pack last start behind CAPTAIN BART when grabbing the silver. Fresh up in that outing, with some added conditioning, he can feature.

BETTING JEWEL (5) was a winner over this trip for starts back when finishing best after securing the pocket trail. Buried last start in a slick mile, she can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: FERNCO NEL (7), MISS BAY KING COLE (10), KASH TIN (11), BETTING JEWEL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: FERNCO NEL (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

COASTAL BABE (1) is on target for a tilt at the G1 Golden Girl next week and will build her prep to that assignment here. Scoring first up from a break last week, she did enough to hold on. With the benefit of added fitness and the ace gate, she gets every chance to cash in.

MISS IDAHO (4) has been super impressive in two appearances since arriving in Qld from SA. A smart first up winner when strong late from a wide gate, she shattered the clock last start when rattling home off speed for a PB 1.51.7. A repeat of that will see her throw down a big challenge.

GOTTA HAV ME (10) produced a smart performance last week when runner up to coastal babe second line gate makes it tricky. She can chime in again.

PURE DRAGON (8) joins the Jack Butler team from Tamworth as a winner three starts back. The fence will be a plus here and with the economical trip from this gate can grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: COASTAL BABE (1), MISS IDAHO (4), GOTTA HAV ME (10), PURE DRAGON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: COASTAL BABE (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

3YO filly DARETODANCE (6) was a debut winner at Ballarat back in May, showing early speed to fire across from a wide gate and see them off in posting a 6m margin. Sent north to the Trent Dawson barn, she line up here fresh without a local trial, but finds the conditions to strike.

MULLUM ARETHA (7) was sent forward off this gate last start to take control and trying to fend them off, had to settle for the silver behind JILLIBY GIDDEY. Making a mess of the start two runs back to earn the ODM embargo, she has the speed to issue the challenge again here.

BEACH MAGIC (4) was a Redcliffe winner two starts back when working home from the outside second line gate to arrive. Grabbing the silver over this trip last start, he can join in.

LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (8) should find this a shade or two easier than recent starts and will just need to gain a rub of the green at some stage to find space to make a late run.

SELECTIONS: DARETODANCE (6), MULLUM ARETHA (7), BEACH MAGIC (4), LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: DARETODANCE (6) to win
