Form Analysis by Craig Rail
Race 1:
OVERVIEW: CANTFINDABETTORMAN (5) impressively won at his first two runs back from a spell then endured a tough trip when unplaced last week. He moves back to the front line this evening and should prove hard to beat. YOUNG BLUEY (11) has been very unlucky at his past three starts and should be hitting the line strongly. He was held up for a run at a vital stage and motored to the line when second behind Yambukian last week. RAKERO REBEL (2) was shuffled back on the markers and had no clear run when an unlucky fifth last week. She was placed at Group 1 level prior so she must be respected. FIGHTER COMMAND (7) has the imposing record of eleven wins from just sixteen starts and produced a big finish when he scored impressively at Menangle last outing. He is rising up to the open class this evening but he is capable of taking the next step forward. BULLETPROOF BOY (8) worked hard to find the lead and went down fighting when third behind Yambukian at Melton last week. He continues to build on his outstanding record and is worth thought again.

Race 2:
OVERVIEW: CRIME WRITER (3) won the Ouyen Cup three starts ago then dashed along the sprint lane to win at Melton. He commenced from the second line and had no luck whatsoever when sixth at Melton last week so he is worth another chance. KISS (13) was resuming since winning the Breeders Crown in November when a big winner over Smoken Ace on May 24. This is another step up in class but she has built up a terrific strike rate since coming from New Zealand and she should be competitive again. METEOR MOTH (12) endured a tough run and appeared to be under pressure in the home straight but kept on kicking when a strong winner at Melton last outing. He boasts the excellent strike rate of eight wins from just eleven starts and is tough enough to overcome the poor draw. FRUGAL FARE (4) is stepping up in class from his latest performances but he is shooting for six wins in succession and is worth thought again. DIAMOND ECLIPSE (1), DESSIE GEE (7) and LE BELLE BIJOUX (10) all have claims in a quality race.

Race 3:
OVERVIEW: JILLIBY ILLUMINATE (12) worked hard early, which appeared to nullify her finishing burst when she was third ($1-25 fav) behind Perun last outing. Her two wins prior were very good so she is worth another chance. MY ULTIMATE BARNEY (5) is yet to win in six starts for the season but his latest second was excellent considering he raced without cover throughout in a mile rate of 1.54.9. He is a good chance of finding the lead now so he must be respected. CLEAR LEFT (1) has been hitting the line strongly at his recent Melton performances and is drawn to receive every chance so he must be considered as a winning hope. ALOT LIKE LOUIE (11) finished off quickly to defeat Seathestars (won since) at Melton two starts ago then followed with a fourth in the race won by Perun. He is poorly drawn but is one of the class runners of the field.

Race 4:
OVERVIEW: SWEET IDEAL (9) gained a nice trail but dashed home in a brilliant final quarter of 26.9 seconds to score with ease last week. She is building up an imposing record and should continue to get better with the benefit of experience so she is worth following. GOLDEN SHOOZ (3) endured a wide trip and finished fourth behind Emily Vincent last outing. She led throughout and recorded a sizzling mile rate of 1.52.4 when she scored at Geelong three starts ago so she will take catching if she can find the lead again. DRAW A DREAM (11) couldn’t work into the race after having a wide trip in fast time last week. She is dropping back in class for this assignment and she was runner up in a mile rate of 1.53.3 on May 03 so she is worth another chance. Race 5:
OVERVIEW: SAIFA (10) began quickly to lead and was run down on the line in a mile rate of 1.53.8 at Melton two starts ago then didn’t have much luck after commencing from the inside of the second line last outing. He is a quality 4yo pacer when racing at his best form and gets his chance to break through for a win. BROWNIESATMIDNIGHT (4) has won three of his past five starts and tried to trail forward behind the smart mare Sweet Ideal when second in fast time last week. He should be competitive again under these conditions. KWICK SAND (13) is terribly drawn but is racing in career best form with two placed efforts behind the smart mare Jilliby Illuminate followed by a close second in a mile rate of 1.56.3. He has the speed to feature prominently. MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (1) will appreciate his best draw for some time and is worth thought along with OUR SAYDIE KAY (2).

He loomed up to win and couldn’t sustain the run at his latest fifth but he is worth another chance. NEPHEW OF SONOKO (10) produced his best performance for some time when he charged to the line out wide on the track and finished second behind Imperial Monarch last week. A repeat performance will see him being competitive in this slightly easier grade. LITTLE YANKEE (8) produced a big finish when he scored at Melton two weeks ago then he was shuffled back on the markers after commencing from the inside of the second line last week. He is awkwardly drawn again but he should be finishing strongly. JILLIBY BALLERINI (2) faces her toughest test but she is worth thought along with ALDEBARAN MILEY (1), which is likely to utilize her gait speed to find the lead from the pole position.

OVERVIEW: REY BAILANDO (6) is resuming since a second in the Breeders Crown back in November but he produced a big finish to impressively win a trial at Shepparton recently and he has the class edge over most of his rivals. MISS OHANA (1) possesses early speed and was placed in the New South Wales Derby at her latest attempt so she must be considered amongst the leading chances. JUST AS I AM (2) was runner up in the Homegrown Classic last season and hasn’t raced since a Cobram victory in December. He has been performing nicely at the trials and is drawn to go well. EZRA KAI (9) worked hard to find the lead at the 1500m mark and battled on well for third behind Mecarno last outing. His overall form is sound and he is worth thought along with IRON WOMEN (10), which won comfortably at Maryborough at her latest attempt.

SUGGESTED BET: REY BAILANDO (6) to win
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: PARISIAN ARTISTE (8) produced a big finishing burst from a rearward position when an eye-catching third behind Aldebaran Zeus last week. He has the perfect trailing draw behind the likely leader PLYMOUTH CHUBB (1) and will take holding out via the sprint lane. PLYMOUTH CHUBB (1) worked home well and just failed to pick up the leader when a narrow second last week. He is suited to racing over the sprint distant and he is working up to a win so he must be respected from the pole position. WATTS UP PARTYTIME (2) is shooting for four straight victories and is taking on very similar opposition so he will obviously be hard to beat again. Whether or not he can work to the lead past PLYMOUTH CHUBB (1) in the early stages might be a big factor to the result of this event. HARRY STAMPER (6) continues to race in outstanding form and finished off nicely at his latest second so he is worth a ticket each way.

He is stepping up in class but he has been impressive since resuming from a long spell so he cannot be underestimated. GRAYSON RED (8) produced a big run to get up and score at Melton two starts ago then followed with a close up fourth at Terang. He has the perfect trailing draw behind ALL BLAZING GUNS (1) so he must be rated highly. MY LITTLE BO (9) was returning to Victoria after contesting a heat of the New South Wales Oaks when she battled on bravely for third behind Dance Affair at Geelong. He is a quality 4yo trotter and should be in for a prosperous campaign. DICHOTOMY (8) attempted to lead throughout from the pole position when second behind Mega Spur last week. That was her first run since a New South Wales campaign and she should go well again. ILLAWONG STARDUST (9) hasn’t raced since being unplaced behind El Resamo at Melton in April but most of her efforts during her last campaign were at open class level so she rates as a value hope against this line up. CALL ME JACK (5) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and has claims along with LINK IN BIO (2) and ROYAL CHARLOTTE (3)
EARLY SPEED: 2 (Possible leader), 3,4

OVERVIEW: CALEXICO (7) is race fit and in peak form so he gets the nod over his two main rivals in VINEY (6) and FORTY LOVE (8), both of which are resuming. CALEXICO (7) has won five of his nine starts for the season and worked hard when a close second behind Crime Writer at his latest attempt. FORTY LOVE (8) is resuming since a third behind CALEXICO (7) in March. He finished second in the Caduceus Classic earlier in the season so he is a quality colt and he was runner up at a recent Horsham trial effort. VINEY (6) made several errors and should have won when a nose second ($1-15 fav) at Geelong in March. He won a trial shortly afterwards before heading for a spell and he finished fourth in the Breeders Crown Final last season so he cannot be underestimated. KEAYANG HOLLYWOOD (1), CROCODILE SOCKS (2) and IN AN IDEAL WORLD (3) are all in winning form so it is a top race to end the program.
