Race 1:

OVERVIEW:  TO THE NINES (8) will appreciate the return to Mildura racing considering he has won six races on the track and he made it through to the Breeders Crown Final last season so he should prove hard to beat. He worked home well for second behind the in-form pacer Heatseeker in fast time at Charlton last time out. HOOKLINEANDSINKER (3) is a fast beginner and races best when he is able to lead. He commenced from the second line and was out four horses wide from the 400m when fourth behind ROCKNROLL LENNY (9) last week. He led throughout and recorded a slick mile rate of 1.55.6 when he scored at Gawler in January. ALWAYS SAFARI (1) will appreciate his best draw for some time and he performs best when he is close to the speed. He picked up some ground from a rearward position at his latest fifth. GLITZY ALL OVER (2) is racing in career best form and CHEERS POVERTY (4) has the early speed to be prominent throughout.

SELECTIONS: TO THE NINES (8), HOOKLINEANDSINKER (3), ALWAYS SAFARI (1), GLITZY ALL OVER (2)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and finished third behind the handy type Lewielewis at Mildura last week. She led throughout to win at Mildura prior and should be hitting the line strongly under these conditions. DALLAS MIKI (9) was heavily supported when he was driven aggressively to find the lead, ran along at a genuine tempo mid-race and proved to be too strong last week. He won a trial at Mildura prior and he should be competitive again. FOXY TWO GLOVES (5) is a strong mare that sustained a long run to win at Mildura on February 25. She ran a fair race behind DALLAS MIKI (9) last week and has claims if she puts her best foot forward. GO AWAY AGAIN (2) is likely to try and lead throughout and UNITED (3) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment.

SELECTIONS: GOOD BOOTS BINDI (7), DALLAS MIKI (9), FOXY TWO GLOVES (5), UNITED (3)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: DON CRUNCH (10) is a first starter for trainer Tori Hutchins that won a trial at Bendigo last week. He strikes a suitable assignment for his debut performance and should make his presence felt. THE NINJA (8) began quickly to lead but broke stride shortly after the start and moved up without cover shortly afterwards when a brave second behind Bite The Ear Mike last week. He has been placed at his past eight attempts and deserves to break through for a win. PRIDDY CARSON (7) settled midfield and was doing his best work late when third last week. He should have benefited from the experience and is a place chance again. POSTER ART (2) has performed fairly well at four recent trial performances and is worth a place ticket from her good draw.

BACK: DON CRUNCH (10) – 1.5 units (each way)

SELECTIONS: DON CRUNCH (10), THE NINJA (8), PRIDDY CARSON (7), POSTER ART (2)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: NEVS DREAM (5) is a brilliant beginner and led throughout when a runaway winner at Mildura two starts ago. She led and was run down at her latest fifth but she has finished second at a Mildura trial since so she can bounce back into winning form here. G B BRAVE (10) trailed leader and was held up for a run at a vital stage when an unlucky second behind Diamond Krusher at his Mildura debut. He is not as well drawn for this assignment but he should continue to do well at Mildura. MASON DIXON LINE (11) was held up for a run coming up to the home turn and broke stride when looking for a clear passage last week. He is better than his form reads and is worth another chance. ROJENBYE (9) worked hard in the early stages and produced a better performance last week. He could show up with the right luck in running.

SELECTIONS: NEVS DREAM (5), G B BRAVE (10), MASON DIXON LINE (11), ROJENBYE (9)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: RONZEL MICKY (8) is a speedy mare that should go well against this line up. She came from a long way back when she scored convincingly at Mildura on February 18 and did well in fast final sectionals at her latest second. She has the perfect trailing draw and she should be hitting the line strongly. LOUIEVILLE (9) began quickly to lead, took cover and was shuffled back on the markers mid-race when a handy finishing second behind Dallas Miki last week. He is steadily working back to his best form and should be competitive against this line up. SHES POPPY (7) has the perfect trailing draw behind the fast beginner INDIANAS SON (1) and rates as a value chance. She ended up being very wide on the home turn and had excuses last week. INDIANAS SON (1) was runner up after leading against similar opposition last week and is drawn to give another forward showing.

BACK: RONZEL MICKEY (8) – 1 unit (each way)

SELECTIONS: RONZEL MICKY (8), LOUIEVILLE (9), SHES POPPY (7), INDIANAS SON (1)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: MAGGACIS (11) trounced his rivals to win by 25m in his heat of this series last week and is clearly the horse to beat again. He won by 29m at his victory prior! APOLOGY ACCEPTED (12) settled midfield and came out three horses wide from the 500m when he finished off best to score at Mildura last week. He should be finishing off nicely again. KEAYANG CRIPPA (4) pushed forward to race without cover shortly after the start, hit the front at the 500m and kicked on strongly for a narrow second in the heat won by APOLOGY ACCEPTED (12). He is racing consistently and should be competitive again. GRENADE (5) was no match for MAGGACIS (11) last week but he was runner up for the third time in succession and must be considered as a place chance again.

BACK: MAGGACIS (11) – 3 units (win)

SELECTIONS: MAGGACIS (11), APOLOGY ACCEPTED (12), KEAYANG CRIPPA (4), GRENADE (5)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: MY ULTIMATE JIMMY (5) showed good gate speed to lead and set up the track record speed over 2570m when fifth behind Miki To Success in the Charlton Cup. He has won seven of his eleven starts at Mildura and has created a big impression so he is sure to have plenty of admirers. PRIORITISE (6) began brilliantly from the outside of the front line and led clearly when a big winner in a mile rate of 1.56.4 at his first run since December. This is a field of similar standard and he should go well again. MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (7) finished well from the second half of the field when third in the race won by PRIORITISE (6) last week. He boasts an excellent record at Mildura and should prove hard to beat again. SANTA CASA BEACH (8) is shooting for a hat trick but he does tend to race best when he is able to lead and being drawn on the second row is a disadvantage. HOT DEAL (9) has performed below expectations at his past two attempts but he is too good to dismiss.

BACK: MY ULTIMATE JIMMY (5) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE JIMMY (5), PRIORITISE (6), MAXY WANTS TO PLAY (7), SANTA CASA BEACH (8)
