Cranbourne – Sunday, 18 January 2026
Race 1:
OVERVIEW: NO EMOTION (5) settled midfield and was able to sustain a long run in the final 600m when a handy second behind Brave Art at Swan Hill on Tuesday night. He is meeting an easier field now and he is more versatile than most competing in this event so he appears to be hard to beat. ROJENBYE (6) will appreciate a significant drop back in class for this assignment and should be hitting the line strongly. He was a winner at Swan Hill in October and was placed behind Ronzel Micky on December 03. WHITE LION (7) has had a few chances recently but he is a speedy type and will be suited to competing in this small field of seven runners. KEMPSEYS DELIGHT (1) performs best when he is able to lead and is worth thought along with THE DEMOCRAT (4)
BACK: NO EMOTION (5) – 3 units (win)
SELECTIONS: NO EMOTION (5), ROJENBYE (6), WHITE LION (7), THE DEMOCRAT (4)
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: DALLAS MIKI (3) began quickly and worked to the lead when a close second behind Where Is Woody at Maryborough. He has worked back into his peak form and is drawn to make his presence felt. LOMBOK (7) will appreciate her easiest assignment for some time and she had little luck when fifth in the Echuca Cup two starts ago. The barrier draw is a disadvantage but she will be suited if there is a genuine tempo throughout. TORQUE POWER (6) trailed the leader and used the sprint lane when third at Hamilton and is backing up quickly from his effort at Geelong on Saturday. He has been racing at a high level so he is better than his form reads. JAMES GARNER (2) is a tough type and ran a brave race for third last outing so he is not without a chance.
BACK: DALLAS MIKI (3) 2 units - win
SELECTIONS: DALLAS MIKI (3), LOMBOK (7), TORQUE POWER (6), JAMES GARNER (2)
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: MIKI B (5) performed extremely well at the trials prior to his first up victory at Swan Hill. He probably did it harder than most expected when he scored first up but he did sustain a long run out wide on the track and he should have derived benefit from that performance so he is the horse to beat again. CLEAR LEFT (3) endured a tough trip and battled on strongly when third behind MIKI B. He possesses early speed and has recently dropped back into this suitable class so he must be respected. GOOD BOOTS BINDI (1) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward so she is drawn to suit her racing pattern. CELESTIAL ZODIAC (2) and MERRYWOOD PAUL (4) are not without a chance.
SELECTIONS: MIKI B (5) to win
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: OOPZEE DAIZEE (8) met much stronger opposition when unplaced at Ballarat last outing. He won at Charlton prior and he boasts a very good record on the track having not missed a place in four attempts (2 wins) so he warrants respect. SNICKERS EXPRESS (7) is poorly drawn but is nearing a win against this class and he wasn’t far away from OOPZEE DAIZEE (8) at their latest meeting. OFF YOUR FACESKI (4) is stepping up in class from his past two victories but he prefers to race on the speed and he is likely to give another forward showing from his good draw. RASTAMON (5) gave an encouraging performance when second behind the Metropolitan trotter El Resamo at a recent trial second at Maryborough and is capable of improving on his numerical form.
SELECTIONS: OOPZEE DAIZEE (8), SNICKERS EXPRESS (7), OFF YOUR FACESKI (4), RASTAMON (5)
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: NOSWEETSFORYOU (6) is a strong mare that will appreciate a drop back in class and should be competitive against this line up. She recorded a mile rate of 1.56.7 when she scored at Maryborough in December and she endured a tough trip at her latest sixth. MIKI STEAMED HOME (7) backed up a handy trial performance at Terang with a first up victory at Hamilton. This is a race of more depth but he has the speed to figure in the finish. ARCHIE MOTH (8) was driven aggressively from a wide draw and battled on well when fourth behind Chirripo at Shepparton. He was heavily supported when he scored at Mildura three starts ago and looms as one of the leading chances again. THE NAKED ART (2) steps up in class from his latest Swan Hill victory but he is drawn to be prominent throughout.
BACK: NOSWEETSFORYOU (6) – 1 unit each way
SELECTIONS: NOSWEETSFORYOU (6), MIKI STEAMED HOME (7), ARCHIE MOTH (8), THE NAKED ART (2)
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: HUXHAM CHUBB (3) is backing up quickly from his effort at Geelong on Friday night but his overall form is strong. He scored at Horsham on January 05 and has really excelled since competing in the Super Series and Breeders Crown events. IMPEACHED (7) competed in the Homegrown Classic at his latest unplaced effort and will find this assignment to be more suitable. BRAVE ART (2) led throughout at her latest Swan Hill victory. This is a race of more depth but she is a good chance of finding the lead again. CRESCO THREEPEAT (9) lacks high speed but he is a strong staying type and he did well at his latest third after enduring a wide trip so he is worth an investment.
SELECTIONS: HUXHAM CHUBB (3), IMPEACHED (7), BRAVE ART (2), CRESCO THREEPEAT (9)
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: SHUDABOUGHTABOAT NZ (8) is a New Zealand bred first starter, which comfortably won a trial at Maryborough last week. He is awkwardly drawn first up but he is worth following. DE BEAU ROCK (9) is a fast pacer that is working up to a win. He would be better suited being drawn on the front line, where he can utilize his gate speed but his latest third in a slick mile rate of 1.54.4 would be more than competitive against this line up. GEMMY LOU (3) finished strongly at her latest trial second at Bendigo and should be primed for a big first up performance. SEASIDE SHOW (6) progressed forward to race without cover and battled on well for a game third at her debut. She is widely drawn again but this race is no harder.
SELECTIONS: SHUDABOUGHTABOUT (8), DE BEAU ROCK (9), GEMMY LOU (3), SEASIDE SHOW (6)
