Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: ALWAYS BE BLAKEY (9) produced a big effort when second behind Browniesatmidnight in a slick mile rate of 1.53.8 last outing. He should be reaching his peak form after having two starts back from a spell and he will take beating against this line up. DANCE AWAY (10) settled three back on the inside and worked home well for second behind Golden Shooz in a sizzling mile rate of 1.52.3 last outing. He appears to be well placed with the aid of a concession claim and should be hitting the line strongly. DANCE AFFAIR (5) was resuming since August when he had no clear run and appeared to have plenty in reserve at Melton last week. He is a handy 4yo pacer when racing at his peak form and should go well. IMA TERMINATOR (7) was a big winner at Kilmore before finishing down the track behind Perun at Cranbourne. He bounced back with a Bacchus Marsh trial victory in handy time on Saturday so he is worth another chance.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 5,6

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS BE BLAKEY (9), DANCE AWAY (10), DANCE AFFAIR (5), IMA TERMINATOR (7)

RATINGS: 9/ 5,10/ 7/ 2,6/ 4/ 11

SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYS BE BLAKEY (9) to win

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: MCGEE (5) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and should go well. He led out then took cover when second behind Tictok two starts ago then followed with a fourth in a strong race behind Jilliby Ballerini. He is a fast beginner and should give a forward showing. ROCKY VALLEY (2) is working back into form and was able to win a trial at Bacchus Marsh on Saturday. He trailed behind the runaway leader Lady In The Sky at his latest Cranbourne second and he should be competitive again. BOUTIKA (1) won from behind the leader at Swan Hill on March 25 and is drawn to receive a similar trip so she cannot be left out of calculations. JAKARTA (7) is racing consistently and defeated the handy trotter Commodus at his latest Ballarat victory. He has claims along with PROMISE DREAM (6), CLAUDY AN GUS (9) and FREMARKSTILLY (10).

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 1,5

SELECTIONS: MCGEE (5), ROCKY VALLEY (2), BOUTIKA (1), JAKARTA (7)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: YNOBE DAKOTA (4) finished off well from a rearward position when a close second behind Didafull Oneeighty in a mile rate of 1.55.6 then had little luck at Bendigo. She is racing well and deserves to break through for a win. CALYPSO MISTRESS (2) was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off quickly when a handy third at Geelong two starts ago. She is ideally drawn and should be competitive again. SASSYOLA (9) is racing in peak form and finished off well for second to Amphijet at Terang last outing. She is versatile and should run her usual honest race. BRINGSUSJOY (8) was returning from Tasmania when she was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off well for sixth at Ballarat. She is worth thought along with MIDNIGHT CRIMES (5).

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 4,5,7

SELECTIONS: YNOBE DAKOTA (4), CALYPSO MISTRESS (2), SASSYOLA (9), BRINGSUSJOY (8)

SUGGESTED BET: YNOBE DAKOTA (4) each way

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: IN AN IDEAL WORLD (3) attempted to lead throughout when a close second behind Perun at Cranbourne last outing. He was able to lead throughout in a sizzling mile rate of 1.53.8 at a Melton trial victory prior so he will take catching over the sprint distance. BEST EVER BLING (10) was resuming since being unplaced in the Breeders Crown Final in November when he was aggressively driven to find the lead and scored in a mile of 1.56.1 at Geelong. He is a very talented colt and is sure to make his presence felt. MAJOR CRUNCH (2) is a fast beginner and is likely to end up trailing behind IN AN IDEAL WORLD (3) from his good draw so he should receive every chance. ROCKABILLY RINGO (1), GOODTIME CAPTAIN (4) and MONTANA PRIDE (6) are all minor place chances in the event.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 2,7

SELECTIONS: IN AN IDEAL WORLD (3), BEST EVER BLING (10), MAJOR CRUNCH (2), MONTANA PRIDE (6)

RATINGS: 3,10/ 2/ 4,6/ 1

SUGGESTED BET: IN AN IDEAL WORLD (3) to win

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: STICK WITH ME (9) progressed forward to find the front and was run down in the latter stages at Kilmore last outing. She has been placed in two of her past three starts and was a winner at Bendigo in January so she warrants respect. KYVALLEY JETSTREAM (10) is resuming since a Maiden victory in January but he was a runaway trial winner at Kilmore last week and is very well bred so he must be considered as a winning chance. SINGARA TED (8) showed a glimpse of his best form when a handy finishing fourth at Maryborough last week and he rates as a value hope. FLING IT RAINBOW (5) is a fast beginner and performs best when he is able to lead. He has been racing consistently and is worth thought again.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (likely leader), 3,4

SELECTIONS: STICK WITH ME (9), KYVALLEY JETSTREAM (10), SINGARA TED (8), FLING IT RAINBOW (5)

RATINGS: 9/ 10/ 5,8/ 4,6

SUGGESTED BET: STICK WITH ME (9) each way

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: SEND IN ELVIS (5) is a first starter for trainer Ashleigh Herbertson, which finished off well for second behind Rocknroll Rocket at his latest Melton trial performance and should go well first up. SEGUI LE STELLA (10) was heavily supported and ran a good race for second behind Margaritari at Hamilton last week. She is a promising Maiden filly, which has been placed in three of her past four starts and should be finishing off nicely again. WHISKEYDRINKINGBILL (9) settled in the second half of the field and picked up some ground when fifth behind Maxbeca last week. He has had a horror run with the barrier draw as he performs best when he is able to lead but he is racing well enough to figure in the finish. HIGHLAND BRETT (8) is resuming since December but he was placed in all of his three starts last season and he will be fitter after two recent trial attempts so he must be respected.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 5,

SELECTIONS: SEND IN ELVIS (5), SEGUI LE STELLA (10), WHISKEYDRINKINGBILL (9), HIGHLAND BRETT (8)

RATINGS: 5,10/ 9/ 8/ 2,3

SUGGESTED BET: SEND IN ELVIS (5) each way

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: BETTES BLUE VIOLET (6) has performed well at her two starts since resuming and missed out by a narrow margin in a mile rate of 1.56.1 at Melton last outing so she is capable of going one better. FESTINALENTE (7) ran into a dead end late and had little luck when fourth behind Our True Colours at Melton last outing. She is poorly drawn but is usually competitive against this class so she is worth an investment. JAY BEE (5) is a fast beginner and attempted to lead throughout when third at Melton last outing. She is a good chance of finding the lead again and should go well. GOODTIME MAE (3) was resuming since December when third at Hamilton last week and should be fitter from that run. She is worth thought along with PRECIOUS BELLE (1), which should receive every chance from the pole position.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (likely leader), 3,6,7

SELECTIONS: BETTES BLUE VIOLET (6), FESTINALENTE (7), JAY BEE (5), GOODTIME MAE (3)

RATINGS: 6/ 7/ 3,5/ 1/ 8

SUGGESTED BET: BETTES BLUE VIOLET (6) each way

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: SNAZOLA (7) finished off best from midfield and scored at Ballarat then followed with a fourth at Melton last outing. She is poorly drawn but is racing well enough to figure in the finish. ONECROWDEDHOUR (3) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and just failed to run down Ittakesluv at Kilmore last outing. He is working back into his peak form and must be considered as a winning chance. FOUR LONELY NIGHTS (6) was able to lead throughout against similar opposition at Ballarat last outing and is worth thought again. PICKLE IT (2) is a fast beginner and has claims along with MICTON MOUSE (4).

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 4,5,6

SELECTIONS: SNAZOLA (7), ONECROWDEDHOUR (3), FOUR LONELY NIGHTS (6), MICTON MOUSE (4)

RATINGS: 7/ 3,6/ 4/ 2/ 1
