Racing Queensland are committed to the continual review and improvement of the Pathway programming system and as a result of industry feedback announce the below change to the Pathway program effective from the March 24 Albion Park race meeting:
Rather than not allowing a Pathway eligible horse into a National Ratings race at all, the option to accept for a Ratings race will be made available only if no run is obtained in a Pathway race.
As a result the below clause has been added to each National Rating race to reflect this change:
Pathway horses are only eligible if no run is obtained in a Pathway race at this meeting.
To be clear - if a horse is eligible for multiple Pathway races all Pathway race options must be exhausted before it is allowed to fall back to the National Ratings race option.
Some changes to race distances have been made to Pathway programs at short notice in an effort to streamline options without distance being an excuse to bypass a Pathway race in preference for a Ratings race.
