DESPITE his feature success Sunday, My Used To Be is no certainty to tackle the next leg of the country cup circuit.

Racing solidly in the provincial events this campaign, My Used To Be backed up his two recent Cup placings by capturing Gawler's Trotters' Cup for co-trainers Jill Neilson and Katie Wilson.

Naturally pleased with the squaregaiter, Neilson explained a decision on Sunday's Victor Harbor Trotters' Cup will be made during the next 24 hours.

"At this stage I am not sure if he will go around at Victor Harbor," Neilson said. "We will discuss it with Geoff (Eason, owner) and see what he wants to do.

"Either way, he'll be heading to the Final Cup in Port Pirie on April 13."

With Wayne Hill holding the reins, My Used To Be began badly from his 20-metre handicap to settle towards the tail of the field as Skybreeze set the pace well clear of the pack.

Sustaining a strong three-wide run during the last lap, My Used To Be completed an eight-and-a-half metre win from Millys Magic.

First-up from a four-month spell, Skybreeze battled on bravely to be a nose away third in 2:02.1 over 2550 metres.

"That was such a good run from him," Neilson said. "We were very happy with the way he took off and rounded them up along the back straight.

"He hit the line well and Wayne said he felt as strong at the finish as he did at the start."
