NATHAN Turnbull has had a strong start to the new season and it is only going to get better for the Bathurst horseman.

Turnbull produced his talented colt Better Be The Best at the Bathurst trials on Monday night, where he won the official hit-out impressively.

Better Be The Best won seven of his 10 starts in his debut season.

His highlight was winning the group 1 NSW Breeders Challenge Blue Final at Menangle on November 12, his last start.

Better Be The Best will most likely be aimed at the upcoming NSW Derby.

As for Turnbull, he has trained 22 winners already this season including the Junee Pacers Cup with Camanchi Warrior at the TAB Carnival of Cups meeting last Saturday night.

Turnbull has seven starters at Bathurst tonight.

A bit green last time but is showing promise and with even luck will be hard to beat.

Bathurst next best

Race 3: Christiano Rose (7)

Has very good gate speed that may see her find the pegs.  Expecting a good run.
