It was not that long ago that harness racing driver Todd McCarthy was a regular feature amongst the winners at Menangle.

The Grand Circuit-winning reinsman made the career move to America more than a year ago and it has paid dividends.

McCarthy nabbed another major feature win over the weekend when claiming the $US1million North America Cup with the Noel Daley-trained Pebble Beach.

“It’s so surreal,” said McCarthy.

“I’m speechless. I can’t thank Noel enough for what he’s done for me since I’ve come over here too.

“He was a large part in helping me come over and to win this race with him has just been unbelievable.

“I was lucky enough to pick up this horse early on and he’s just been an absolute pleasure.”

McCarthy won some of Australia’s biggest races before relocating including the Inter Dominion with Tiger Tara in 2018.

While he is not racing at Menangle today, McCarthy’s mum Narelle has two starters at the meeting with Lady Delight and Captain Braveheart in race three. McCarthy’s father John McCarthy will drive Lady Delight.
