Trainer Belinda McCarthy has starters at Penrith tonight and is preparing for a big weekend ahead.

The stable has 11 horses nominated across the eastern states of Australia beginning with a starter at Albion Park, Queensland, on Friday.

McCarthy then has six horses nominated at Menangle on Saturday night and on the same evening has four horses engaged at Ballarat, Victoria.

Headlining her southern raid are her open class pacers Expensive Ego and Spirit Of St Louis in the $110,000 group 1 Ballarat Cup.

Spirit Of St Louis has won two country cups down south in his last two starts and has drawn barrier one in Saturday night’s feature – the first time he has drawn the pole since racing in Australia.

Expensive Ego, who is first up since the Inter Dominion, has drawn barrier nine.

The iForm best bets for tonight:

Outclassed at Menangle but previous handy efforts suggests he could have their measure.
