NSW: Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Pathway Protocols

The following HRNSW COVID-19 Protocols will apply to fully vaccinated participants.

For the avoidance of doubt two inoculations are required unless a medical exemption satisfactory to HRNSW has been provided.

Segregation of participants and on-course patrons will be enforced until 12.01am on Sunday 12 December 2021 but will be reviewed by HRNSW for the Inter Dominion Carnival Meetings.

The responsibility for patrons on-course being compliant with NSW Health Orders rests with Clubs.

Clubs will however be required to provide a COVIDSafe Segregation Plan for approval by HRNSW prior to the re-introduction of patrons on-course.

All NSW Health Orders such as the wearing of masks and social distancing must be adhered to.
In addition any other protocols deemed necessary by HRNSW for the health and safety of participants, HRNSW employees and Club operative personnel must be adhered to.

NSW 70% vaccination level – October 11 or as advised by Government.

Clubs must have a HRNSW approved COVIDSafe Segregation Plan in operation for patrons to be permitted on-course. Clubs may elect individually not to have patrons on-course.

The requirement for the provision of seven day cycle PCR tests for participants and race meeting operative personnel will be rescinded.

Rapid Antigen Testing will be retained on an as required basis.

Drivers will be required to wear the race colours as published in the official race book or as advised to HRNSW in accordance with stipulated times.

NSW 80% vaccination level – October 24 or as advised by Government.

Regional Racing Policy rescinded.

Clubs to have HRNSW approved COVIDSafe Segregation Plan in operation for patrons to be permitted on-course. Clubs may individually elect not to have patrons on-course.

Rapid Antigen Testing will be retained on an as required basis.

Drivers will be required to wear the race colours as published in the official race book or as advised to HRNSW in accordance with stipulated times.

From Sunday 12 December 2021 - Unvaccinated Persons.

HRNSW will assess the inclusion of unvaccinated persons at race meetings, trials and training centres operated by HRNSW or situated on race tracks from 12 December 2021 taking into consideration the interests of the harness racing industry at large as well as the community in general.

Special Notes

  • HRNSW will be adaptive to NSW Health Orders in the ensuing period.
  • The introduction into the HRNSW Protocols will be taken if a LGA or Region is placed into ‘lockdown’ by NSW Health.
