Carbine Chemicals - APVMA Notice to Stop Supply

Harness Racing Australia (HRA) advises all industry participants that the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) issued a notice to Carbine Chemicals Pty Ltd on 30 July 2020 in relation to the following unregistered chemical products:

Carbelyte                      Carbine-E                     Carb-Iron                     Citramax        

Cyanamax                    Folamax                       Gastrazone                 Haematonic

Instant B                       Iron Donor                   Ironamax                     Jetramax        

Muslamax                    Phoslamax                  Relaxsen                      Reload            

Stamazene                   Thiamax                       Volganic

The attached notice issued by the APVMA required the Company to immediately stop supply of the listed Products; to immediately notify any person who has possession or custody of the listed Products either directly or indirectly because of a supply by the Company that they must stop supply of the Products and return it to the Company immediately; and take all necessary steps to recover all stocks of the listed Products from any person that the Company has either directly or indirectly supplied the Products to.

Consequently, Trainers are advised to immediately stop the use of any of the abovementioned products and return them to Carbine Chemicals Pty Ltd.

Persons in possession of any of the abovementioned products should direct any questions or concerns to Carbine Chemicals in the first instance as follows:

Trainers are also reminded of the relevant Australian Harness Racing Rules (AHRR) in relation to Unregistered Substances:

AHRR 194. A person who:

(a) Procures or attempts to procure;

(b) Has in his possession or on his premises or under his control;

(c) Administers or attempts to administer;

any substance or preparation that has not been registered, labelled, prescribed or obtained in compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation is guilty of an offence.

 

AHRR194A. A person who:

(a) Sells or attempts to sell;

(b) Supplies or attempts to supply;

(c) Distributes or attempts to distribute;

any substance or preparation that has not been registered, labelled, prescribed or obtained in compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation is guilty of an offence.
