Harness racing driver Jordan Chibnall is on the verge of a milestone victory.

She drove a winning double in Launceston on Friday to take her career winning total to 199.

Her first win came aboard Raging On ($1.95 fav), for her partner Conor Crook, in the Victory Images Photography Pace (2200m).

The seven-year-old gelded son of Raging Bull showed good gate speed from barrier four to lead, and controlled the race, and had enough in hand late to hold off the fast finsihing Budd Sidewinder ($5.50) by 1.2m, with Royal Cadence ($20) taking the short cuts to be a further 3m away third in a mile rate of 2:01.5.s

“It was good to see him put the writing on the wall again. He has been pretty consistent but doesn’t win very often, and it was good to see him get another one on the board,” said Chibnall.

Chibnall then continued her association with the Kasey Kent-trained mare Miss Collann ($2.30 fav) to score in the night’s final race, the Vizpix Broadcast Services Pace (1680m).

The daughter of Sweet Lou ended up having a lovely run in the one-one and when Sports Wrack, who was racing outside the leader, took over at the 300m, it gave Miss Collann clear running to sprint home best to record back-to-back wins by 9m over Laid Back ($21) and Sports Wrack ($11) in 1:56.9s.

“It worked out pretty good. It got a little bit hairy at the start. So I elected to get out of that it and she went super. It was good to see her hit the line like that, and Kasey is doing a good job with her,” said the driver.

For this season in Tasmania, Chibnall has driven 34 wins, two behind Mitch Ford on the Junior Drivers Premiership, as she closes in on her 200th win.

“My dad has been counting down on Facebook. I will be proud of the achievement, and hopefully I can crack it in Hobart on Saturday.”

The Trainers premiership battle continued with Wayne Yole preparing a winning double, winning with the Mark Yole driven Away Game ($3.30 fav) and Kiavino Stride ($5.50) with Hannah Van Dongen in the sulky.

The double now sees Yole two wins behind Tammy Langley, who has 74 wins for the season, that ends on 31 December.
