Participants will travel from across the state to Hobart this Sunday for a day meeting which sees a full 10 race program. Mark Yole is going the way of Our Better Bro as his best of the day, who was in the winner’s circle two weeks ago.

Mark has a full book of drives – Let’s see what his thoughts are across the program.

Hobart 22nd December

Race 1 - Gobsmacked: I thought this guy’s run last week at Burnie was better than appeared on paper. He galloped away then got held up over the last couple of hundred metres. If there is a good tempo up front here, he wouldn’t shock me to see him finishing off strongly. Could be a smokey.

Race 2 - Major Lester: An honest run again last week. As usual he will be driven with cover and finish off well. Look for him late.

Race 3 - Iden Eliza Jane: First up run was okay; she still has a lot to learn but I think there is some ability there. Flies the gate so I may not have any other option but to go forward, however saying that I think she would be better off when she can learn to settle as she seems to have some high speed.

Race 4 - B K Windermere: Interesting runner. First up from a spell and did show enough last campaign to win a couple of races. She trialed okay at Carrick a fortnight ago. This race doesn’t appear to be overly strong, so I see us taking up a forward position and being right in the mix.

Race 5 - Justify: Going solid at the moment, I thought his run at Launceston two starts ago was good in a very strong race. He then found it a bit tough to come three wide without cover from the 900 last week. The draw is tricky as he is a tough horse to drive out of the mobile. He is very touchy so he kind of dictates where he ends up early. If I can get some cover, he could run a nice race.

Race 6 - Oneofthelads: Tough effort sitting outside the leader last start. I will most likely drive him a little more conservative here unless they are walking up front. A long way down in class but he needs some things to go his way to be winning.

Race 7 - Keayang Fitzy: I have been rapt with his last two efforts. He sat outside the leader in a very slick mile here a fortnight ago. He then made a meal of the start last week in Launceston but ran on very well for 4th. The draw really makes it tough here for him but if I can settle handy, I think he will make his presence felt.

Race 8 - Feelinkindalucky: Had his chance at Burnie when leading last week. He was swamped late to run third. Tough draw here but with any luck could be in the finish.

Race 9 - Andaman Bay: First two runs weren’t too bad then got into strife last time with a flat tyre. From the draw he should settle with cover on the pegs, and I think he can finish top five in a very strong race.

Race 10 - Our Better Bro (Best of the day): This guy has been impressive in both his run in the state. He won two weeks ago here, then could not get clear last week. Although it looks like a strong race, I think he is my best chance of the day as he will push forward as I think he can also do work in his races. We will see how good he goes here.
