It’s been a few years since they’ve been under lights, but the 2024 Swan Draught Bunbury Pacing Cup is returning to its nighttime slot this Saturday, March 30 and its set to be a big night out in Bunbury, you don’t want to miss it.

With a bumper field assembled, the Bunbury Cup is fast becoming the perfect lead up race to the $1.25million Nullarbor on April 19 and the 300,000 Retravision Fremantle Cup the week later on April 26, with Saturdays Bunbury Cup winner receiving a golden ticket into the Group 1 Fremantle Cup.

The Club is excited and expect big crowds on course with its return to night racing in recent weeks, with plenty of general admission entry available for the club’s biggest night of racing.

“We’re really excited, we’ve got a lot on, we have a lot of members booked in for the night, restaurants are open, and everything is going really well,

“The night racing has proven to be a hit, we even have new people heading to the club, we have lots of new members as well.”

Bunbury Trotting Club will open their gates from 5pm, with gold coin donation entry going directly to WomenCan’s Team Teal, raising funds for Gynaecological cancers.

Theres plenty of entertainment for the whole family, with plenty of racing action on the track, with an 8-race card, as well as the adorable pint-sized racers, the Pony Trots heading out twice throughout the night.

There will be kids’ amusements on course, donuts and ice cream van and being the Easter long weekend, it wouldn’t be complete without a visit from the Easter Bunny.

The Last Word -

2. Mighty Ronaldo – “Racing well and has drawn to be prominent here.” – Justin Prentice

3. Never Ending – ”First go against this class, it’s going to be a good test for him, but I think it’ll be good for him at this stage of his prep.” – Justin Prentice

4. Alcopony – “We will be going forward at the start, fours not a real flash barrier but it could have been worse, the way he’s going I’m very happy with him and I’m looking forward to going down there.” – Kevin Keys.

SECOND ROW

9. Pinny Tiger – “Horse couldn’t be better. Just going to need some gaps to open up and they’ll know he’s in the race.” – Michael Brennan

10. Hector NZ – “On the improve, but still a couple of runs away.” – Kim Prentice.

11.Lavra Joe – “Draw makes it very hard; the horse is really well but this barrier draw is very hard.” – Ray Jones
