Harness Racing Australia (HRA) has recently conducted a review of the Clearance into Australia Horse Registration application process.

Effective 1 July 2022, horses physically arriving in Australia will be subject to the following changes:

  • Completed applications are required within 7 days of the horse’s physical arrival date in Australia
  • New fees apply to applications submitted after 7 days
  • A copy of the shipping advice is required with all applications
  • More general information is required on the application form

Please refer to the Application for Clearance Form for details regarding the new fees.

HRA is granting an amnesty period for any horses that have already arrived in Australia with applications yet to be completed and processed.

If you have a horse that has arrived in Australia prior to 1 July 2022 whose application has not yet been submitted, please do so prior to 1 September 2022 to avoid a higher fee.

If any of these horses are not going to race or breed, please notify their status to HRA by completing and emailing the R25-A Retirement or Death Notification Form.

HRA are working towards developing an online application and payment portal that will streamline and complement this application process.

While we are building the online solution, please click here for the Application for Clearance Form.

To avoid disappointment and delays, please ensure all applications are completed in full before submitting to HRA.
