The Australian Government National Measurement Institute (NMI) has advised HRNSW that Cobalt above the threshold of 100 micrograms per litre in urine has been detected in the urine samples taken from;

  • CLASSIC ARC following its win in race 5, the HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY JORDAN MURPHY PACE (1609 metres) conducted at Newcastle on Friday 3 September 2021; and
  • MAGIC SHOOS following its win in race 9, the TAB VENUE MODE PACE (1609 metres) conducted at Newcastle on Friday 3 September 2021

The reserve portions and control samples have been sent for confirmation.

Trainer Ms Stacie Elliott has been advised that HRNSW will continue its investigation into these samples and an Inquiry will be conducted in due course.

Acting under the provisions of AHRR 183A, it has been determined that CLASSIC ARC and MAGIC SHOOS, the horses subject of the certificates, shall not be nominated or compete in any race until the outcome of an Inquiry or investigation.

Ms Elliott has until 4pm on Monday 18 October 2021 to make submissions in relation to AHRR 183.
