Top Menangle driver Luke McCarthy.

HE has not won a race since last April yet Star Galleria has been well supported in tonight’s open class pace at Menangle.

The Belinda McCarthy-prepared gelding opened in the markets at $5 and firmed into $4.20 at one stage.

In that event, race seven, Loorrim Lake makes a return having been off the racing scene since July.

The four-year-old was purchased by new connections four starts ago for a six-figure price.

He has won one race for his new owners when claiming The Golden Mile Free-For-All at Menangle and rated a personal best one minute and 50.9 seconds.

The main feature at Menangle tonight is the Group 3 Country Club Final (race five) where another of McCarthy’s horses has been supported.

That is The Croupier that will start favourite with Luke McCarthy in the sulky.

Meanwhile, the McCarthy stable will be represented in the Victoria tonight with their Grand Circuit champion King Of Swing racing in the Victoria Cup at Bendigo.

The iForm team have put together their best bets for tonight’s meeting:

Menangle best bet

Race 9: Rusty Crackers (8)

Looks the class factor here who should have little trouble in taking care of them.

Menangle next best

Race 7: Rockin Marty (2)

Gets a cushy draw and is ready to produce his best

Play the exotics

The Menangle quaddie

Race 5: 8,3,7,12

Race 6: 7,8

Race 7: 8,7

Race 8: 8
