16 August 2021

Following the NSW Government lockdown of NSW Regional and Rural areas, HRNSW will return to regionalised racing for all race meetings conducted from today until further notice.

It had been previously advised that this would commence on Wednesday 18 August 2021, however, that decision has been brought forward to commence today in line with NSW Government and NSW Health restrictions.

Consequently, Trainers with horses engaged for scheduled race meetings outside of the HRNSW Racing Region in which they are trained are advised that those horses will be withdrawn without penalty and will be covered in accordance with the HRNSW Abandoned Meetings Policy. This will also apply to Drivers engaged for those affected meetings.

HRNSW is extremely mindful of the impact that the return to regionalisation will have upon individual participants, however, this precautionary measure is once again being adopted to protect the NSW harness racing industry and the livelihood of participants.

HRNSW reminds the harness racing industry throughout NSW that only licensed participants, club officials and essential staff are able to attend race meetings and trials until further notice. Members of the public are NOT able to attend pursuant to the NSW Government and NSW Health restrictions.

HRNSW will continue to monitor the advice of the NSW Government and NSW Health and take appropriate measures when required.

Transport of Horses

The transport of horses across regions will once again require approval from HRNSW Stewards following the submission of a transport application form.
