NSW: Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Mandatory Test Results

On Wednesday 4 August 2021, HRNSW strengthened the restrictions implemented and advised all persons entering the local government areas (LGA’s) of Campbelltown, Bankstown, Fairfield, Blacktown, Cumberland, Liverpool, Parramatta and Georges River for the purposes of engaging in Harness Racing activities that they must, until further notice, provide HRNSW with:

• A negative COVID-19 test within 7 days of this notice (11 August 2021); and

• A weekly negative COVID-19 test, within 7 days of the previous test; and

• Any negative COVID-19 test as required by NSW Health Orders.

Consequently, any licensed participant who has entered any of those LGA’s, including Tabcorp Park Menangle, since 4 August 2021 MUST provide HRNSW with their negative COVID test result by 4pm on Wednesday 11 August 2021 otherwise they will be unable to attend any race meetings or trials anywhere in NSW.

In addition, those licensed participants who have entered any of those LGA’s after 4 August 2021 MUST continue to provide the results of their negative COVID test within 7 days of the previous test otherwise they will be unable to attend any race meetings or trials anywhere in NSW.

Further, as a result of the lockdown imposed by the NSW Government in relation to some suburbs in the Penrith LGA, any person who has entered any of those suburbs for the purposes of harness racing activities after 5pm on Sunday 8 August 2021 MUST also provide HRNSW with:

• A negative COVID-19 test within 7 days of this notice; and

• A weekly negative COVID-19 test, within 7 days of the previous test; and

• Any negative COVID-19 test as required by NSW Health Orders.

Those suburbs include Caddens, Claremont Meadows, Colyton, Erskine Park, Kemps Creek, Kingswood, Mount Vernon, North St Marys, Orchard Hills, Oxley Park, St Clair and St Mary's.

Further, HRNSW reminds any Harness Racing participant entering NSW or returning to NSW following interstate travel to/from Queensland on or after Saturday 31 July, for any reason, are required to notify HRNSW Stewards PRIOR TO RETURNING and provide HRNSW with evidence of a negative COVID-19 test before:

• Entering any Race Track or Training Centre;

• Entering any private stable address.

Test results should be emailed to stewards@hrnsw.com.au

Participants are reminded of Australian Harness Racing Rule 238:

AHRR 238 – A person shall not fail to comply with any order, direction or requirement of the Controlling Body or the Stewards relating to harness racing or the harness racing industry.

HRNSW management reminds all industry participants of the available industry support program.
