Suburbs in Penrith Local Government Area (LGA)

Further to the HRNSW Industry Notice published yesterday in relation to the NSW Government lockdown order imposed for suburbs in the Penrith Local Government Area (LGA) HRNSW advises the following additional information:

  • In relation to race meetings and trials conducted at Penrith, Licensed Trainers residing in any of the affected suburbs MUST only use a Driver and/or Stablehand from one of those suburbs.
  • Licensed Trainers who reside in any of the affected suburbs with horses engaged for the Menangle harness meeting on Tuesday 10 August 2021 are advised that those horses will be withdrawn without penalty and will be covered in accordance with the HRNSW Abandoned Meetings Policy. This will also apply to Drivers engaged for that meeting.
  • Any person who resides in any of the affected suburbs who works at a harness racecourse is not permitted to attend;

Importantly, licensed participants are again reminded that they should ensure that they have advised HRNSW of their current residential address as recorded with Service NSW.

Any enquiries should be made to HRNSW Stewards on 9722 6655.

Participants are reminded of Australian Harness Racing Rule 238:

AHRR 238 – A person shall not fail to comply with any order, direction or requirement of the Controlling Body or the Stewards relating to harness racing or the harness racing industry.

HRNSW management reminds all industry participants of the available industry support program.
