Gloucester Park, the home of harness racing in Western Australia, is located on the banks of the Swan River in the exclusive precinct of East Perth. The course was built in 1929 and officially opened in 1930. Gloucester Park is perfectly positioned as one of Western Australia’s prime Friday night entertainment venues and is a unique and versatile venue in Perth, showcasing exciting harness racing every Friday night. Superbly appointed facilities include 3 restaurants operating during race nights and additional function rooms available for private hire.  James Brennan marked the start of organised harness racing in Western Australia when he called a public meeting that led to the formation of the Western Australian Trotting Association (WATA) in September 1910. Prior to this, the only regular harness racing was conducted at the annual Perth Royal Show.

The above information comes from rwwa.com.au and this Friday Night when they run the $100,000 Perth Sales Classic 2yo C&G Final Gr.1 and $100,000 Perth Sales Classic 2yo Fillies Final Gr.1 the excitement at the track could reach fever pitch.  Please note it’s not just about the 2YO’S as the Group 2 $50,000 3YO fillies Sales Classic and the Group 2 $50,000 3YO Colts and Gelding Sales Classic are also going to see some spectacular racing.
