Trots Centre: Tough times behind as royal trotter returns

Things have been more than a little unorthodox but Rickie Alchin’s trotters continue pack a punch and the stable superstar, Tough Monarch, hopes to give it a full flex in tomorrow night’s Group 1 Schweppes Australasian Trotting Championship.

The $50,000 long distance haul from the standing start headlines the Tabcorp Park Melton program and marks Alchin’s return to the home of Australian trotting, with border restrictions previously limiting the New South Wales trainers movements.
