Four-State Insurance Renewal

Harness Racing Australia along with the four State Controlling Bodies of Racing and Wagering Western Australia, Racing Queensland, Tasracing and Harness Racing South Australia are pleased to announce increased benefits to the 2020/21 Personal Accident Insurance Policy.

The four-state group, along with the broker V-Insurance and underwriter Arch Insurance have negotiated increased benefits for 2020/21 as follows:

  1. Removal of the excess for Non Medicare Medical Claims;
  2. Increased damage clothing and equipment benefit from $1,000 to $3,000; and
  3. Increased the loss of income benefit period for Non Harness Racing related income from 16 weeks to 52 weeks.

These increases are made with no decreases to any other benefits in previous years.

The four-state program covers harness racing activities for participants including voluntary stablehands and mini-trot participants of Racing and Wagering Western Australia, Racing Queensland, Tasracing and Harness Racing South Australia, as well as international visitors.

Please note that employed stable hands are covered under each states WorkCover (or equivalent) coverage.
