Importantly those who wish to claim a horse from a claiming race in Queensland will need to take note of the following information:

  1. Racing Queensland (RQ) is responsible for handling all incoming claims.
  2. Payment for the horse can only be made by bank transfer to the RQ bank account. (no bank cheques, cash, credit card payments or over the counter payments at Clubs)
  3. Claim form and a deposit receipt must be submitted to RQ Officials in advance (Forms cannot be handed over the counter to club race day staff)
  4. RQ to forward full details of payment once received and forms pertaining to the Claim to QRIC Harness Stewards.

It is recommended that claimants organize their claim well in advance to ensure the funds can be identified as received in the Racing Queensland bank account for the claim to be valid.

Only after the claim is successful please contact the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) Licencing and Registration Department to organize payment of the Transfer of Ownership fee. QRIC online payment option available.

For horses to be eligible to race in a Claiming race an Authority to Nominate in Claiming Races form must be completed and forwarded to the Licencing and Registration Department at the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) for processing.                         Email: licensing@qric.qld.gov.au

To organize a claim please contact the Racing Queensland Harness Racing Office for the bank account details or for further information on (07) 3869 9774, (07) 3869 9768, (07) 3869 9794 or by email harnesshandicapping@racingqueensland.com.au
