Clarification of Horse Age for Clearances Post-1 September 2020

Harness Racing Australia (HRA) today clarified that the age of a horse for the purposes of calculating the Clearance Fee for horses being Cleared into Australia will be defined as: the age of that horse in the country from which it is exported on the date of departure.

Upon being cleared into Australia, the age of the horse will then be determined and recorded in accordance with the Australian Harness Racing Rules.

This definition will remain in place for the period 1 September to 31 December 2020 to align with the current season extension due to Covid-19.
